Xbox Series X gamers just realising their controllers are hiding a big secret

All this time, we’ve been playing on our Xbox never realising that a secret is looming large right there in our very hands.

In some respects, this is an easy secret to miss.

Yet in other ways, it’s such a prominent feature of theXboxcontroller that we can’t help but wonder why we never noticed it before.

In a post on the Xbox Series X subreddit, they posted, “Today I learnt (after only two years of owning my first Xbox) that the Xbox logo button on the controller is actually called the Nexus button.”

They then explained how they made this discovery.

As far as the OP is concerned, this is “truly a revelation”.

Another gamer agreed that they typically refer to it as the Xbox button or “home”.

It seems we’ve all been wrong.

The discussion takes a turn, though, when a moderator for the subreddit brings to everyone’s attention the official documentation.

Not only does it refer to the Nexus button as the Xbox button, but the same mod claims that Xbox have since confirmed this.

This isn’t to say that the name hasn’t changed since the time the moderator commented; after all, as one Redditor pointed out, brands like to “reinvent themselves”.
