Certain Xbox Series X/S users have been surprised with a nice free game upgrade.
The game originally launched all the way back in 2012 on thePlayStation3,Xbox360, andPCwith a remaster then landing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One three years later.

That version remains playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility, but users of those consoles were recently treated to a new-gen upgrade.
Those who own the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game will be able to download this upgrade for free.

TheDeathinitive Editionhas plenty of new bells and whistles including 4K resolution, ray tracing, improved loading times, and enhanced lighting and shadows.

Whilst the free upgrade was announced last month, it only became available to download yesterday, on 15 October.
Of course, if you don’t already own the game to get the free upgrade, you can purchase theDeathinitive Edition- which will set you back £23.99.
Fans seem pretty excited about this offering.

It’s nice to see developers offering these kinds of free upgrades.
I can totally understand the typical $10 upgrade paths we see and for large-scale mainstream games, it makes sense.
But so too is it nice to see mid-range games offer this kind of update as an already-included benefit.
