It’s great when a game comes along that is not only free-to-play, but it’s also a fun game that can keep you entertained for countless hours, such as the newly released, The First Descendant.

So how much of a success isThe First Descendant, I hear you ask? While we can’t obtain exact numbers on PlayStation and Xbox, it is currently in thetop ten gameson PSN andnumber onein the free-to-play charts on Xbox right now.
However, we can get more definitive numbers on the PC platform Steam.According toSteamDB, at the time of writing,The First Descendanthas a concurrent player peak of 264,860, a 24-hour peak of 123,321 and over 86,000 players right now.
So it’s fair to say thatThe First Descendanthas gotten off to a good start so far. That being said, it will be interesting to see the numbers six months or a year from now, because maintaining player engagement for the long haul is always the toughest task.
It’s perhaps worth considering thatThe First Descendantdoes have a “mixed” review score on Steam, so hopefully, the developers can fix issues that gamers have in the coming months. We’ll keep you posted if we have any further developers on the latest free-to-play hit.
