Combining rollerskating and gunplay isn’t something relegated to 1990’s Hollywood movies. While this is a very narrow genre, you could argue nothing comes close to a thrill ride of popping tricks on wheels, all while fending off a bunch of enemies with an array of weapons.
Rollerdromeis a perfect meeting of these two skills. Players will find themselves competing in arenas of death, where one wrong move can end yourRollerdromecareer quicker than you can say ‘do a flip’. It’s a simple game to learn, but a tricky one to master - can you build a score from tricks and flips, all while shooting enemy players and avoiding taking too much damage?
A gorgeous and action-packed title, Rollerdrome is available on PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass

So, should you play it? Hell yes, you should. Not only does it feel wonderful to be grinding, flipping, and spinning all over the place, but the gunplay is as smooth as butter. While it is, on the surface, a sports game,Rollerdromealso features a great story of corporation greed and corruption, though that’s not why you’re here.
Perhaps the greatest design decision forRollerdromeis that when you aim your guns, the game pitches down its speed and you arc through the air in slow motion, allowing you to aim your weapons at enemies, or exploding barrels. There’s a sense of power you get while watching enemies fall to the ground, or you blow up a barrel for a combo. Timing things like grenade throws so they explode as your opponents skate into the blast zone.
To top it off, it’s ruddy gorgeous, created using a cel-shaded comic book style that perfectly encapsulates the speed and the action. It’s a bold design decision that is a real treat on the eyes.
You should not be sleeping on this game, so get over to yourPlayStation, or indeed, yourXbox, and download this now. It’ll only take a couple of days to finish and you’ll remember it for a long time to come.
