Zelda meets Stardew Valley in gorgeous new 2025 game

It’s no secret that 2025 is already shaping up to be a monumental year.

I’ll be honest, my most hyped release isProfessor Layton and the New World of Steam.

This serieswasmy childhood, but I’m very much aware that most of you will be counting down to the likes ofGrand Theft Auto VI, Ghost of Yōtei,Assassin’s CreedShadows, Monster Hunter Wilds, andDeath Stranding2: On The Beach, to name a few.

It’s important though that we don’t simply focus on the year’s AAA heavy hitters.

I’m sure that 2025 will also bring us plenty of delightful AAs and indies, one of which I’d like to put on your release radar today.

Who recalls 2018’sMoonlighter?

Well, Digital Sun returns in 2025 to bring usMoonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, a brand new action RPG blending the worlds ofStardew ValleyandThe Legend of Zelda.

Revealed during the recent PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted,Moonlighter 2confirmed its 2025 launch window, although didn’t narrow down the month or quarter beyond that.

We can, however, glean some interesting details from the trailer, namely the fact thatMoonlighter 2is opting for a 3D aesthetic, shifting away from the 2D graphics used in the previous instalment.

It’s a change that I imagine some fans may mourn, but I have to say, the new trailer is dazzling so I’m pretty excited to see what a 3D Moonlighter entry has to offer.

If you don’t know the general gameplay loop, it’s a lovely balance of seeing off enemies in roguelite-esque battle arenas while running your own treasure shop.

You’ll be reliant on your fellow business owners across the village when it comes to improving your armour and weapons, but invest in their wares and you’ll be able to take on tougher enemies, securing better items for your shop.

We’ll be keeping a close eye onMoonlighter 2: The Endless Vaultas and when further updates become available.
