It’s widely considered thatOcarina of Timeisn’t just one of the best The Legend of Zelda games, but also one of the best video games of all time, and I agree.

Upon its release,The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timegarnered alegendary scoreof 99 on the aggregate website Metacritic earning the “Must-Play” accolade and cementing itself as arguably the greatest video game ever.Ocarina of Timewas first released for theNintendo64 in 1998 and it was the first game in the series to be fully 3D with a huge (for its time) open world.

The originalOcarina of Timealso received a sequel (of sorts) with the critically acclaimedThe Legend of Zelda: Majoras Maskin 2000, once again released on the Nintendo 64. Sadly,Majora’s Maskwould be the last that we’d see of the N64 entries (other thanMajora’s Mask 3Din 2015).

“Link and Navi find themselves deep within the Lost Woods as they stumble upon a mysterious stronghold. Not knowing what will await them, they are courageous enough to enter it,” reads the description ofUltimate Trial.

The description continues: “Ultimate Trialincludes new characters, locations, and music as well as custom enemies and upgradeable equipment within a new, unique story.”

Ultimate Trialpromises to be a challenge even for the most hardened The Legend of Zelda fans but there is at least an option to adjust the difficulty via the pause menu screen. Hopefully, Nintendo won’t pull this non-profit fan-made sequel from all existence.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeandMajora’s Maskare also both playable on Nintendo Switch for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion.
